Why do we need to install an intercom system?
The intercom device secures the property from theft and voyeurism, as the building gate is closed at all times, and is only opened by one of the residents who recognizes his visitor through the intercom and then opens the gate for him. The intercom also has a bell feature to summon the property guard instead of calling him. Using the old traditional methods, the automatic opening of the building gate can be controlled through the intercom device itself to facilitate the process of entry and exit of visitors easily and conveniently.
Intercom devices are divided into three sections
Voice Intercom
It is the most common and used in residential buildings in Egypt, where the person outside the property is spoken to through voice, and through it the property gate can be controlled and opened automatically.
Visual Intercom
It is an intercom device with a camera installed in the external unit, and the visitor’s image and voice are received via wires to transmit to you in audio and video who is standing outside.
Wireless Intercom
It is used for residential apartments, where a unit is installed outside the apartment door to transmit the image of the caller to a portable handset device that has a screen to see who is standing outside and talk to them.
Intercom Components
- The main unit (and the screen in the case of a video intercom) is placed inside the house.The external panel (and the camera in the case of a video intercom) is installed near the external gate of the house.
- Cables that connect the main device, the motherboard, and the camera.
- An electrical power converter that reduces the power to match the device’s capacity.
- Electricity source There are types that use internal grid power.
- The main unit consists of the speaker through which we hear the speaker, visitor, or guest.
- The microphone is the one through which we talk to others.
- The external panel consists of a speaker to hear the owners of the house and a microphone to talk to those inside the house.
